Curated to spark imagination
Our minds don’t perceive the world as-it-is but rather as we think it is or should be. We navigate a world of illusions constantly, but the flaws in our perception aren’t all bad. They allow us to make art, to make magic—to see motion in stasis, to see depth on a two dimensional page, to see life in the otherwise meaningless shapes of letters.
Speculative fiction, thrives in the shadowy places between reality and dreams, between what is and could be. This Issue, Illusions, showcases romance, despair, self-deception, and many more questions to ask and answer. Illusions was curated to invoke and inspire curious individuals.
I chose these two image in order to have a contrast with a lack of color and with an indulgance of vibrant colors. I wanted this not only to represent the theme of illusions, but also have the magazine be a piece of art. While imagining the design of each cover I made sure that the magazine would look beautiful on either side.
LET'S GET IN TOUCH
I'm actively seeking opportunities in Visual, Graphic, and UI Design. If you are interested in my work, I would love to chat over tea in Seattle—or given the circumstances—videochat!
