Background
ClearPods was ideated and created by seven students at the University of Washington through an Entrepreneurship class. We wanted to create a product that was simple, fashionable, and most of all, we want it to represent who we are. We were not satisfied with the vibrant silicone covers that were already in the market and there were very slim chances that we could find Airpod covers that showcased our community, and more specifically, our school.
Goal
While generating ideas about the material and design of the Airpods cover, the ClearPods decided that we still wanted to showcase Apple's design, but with our own touch. This is what led to a clear cover with University of Washington designs.
Our goal was to create a product that could be both stylish and express who we were as individuals. We were able to complete this goal and generate profits all within a 20 week timeframe.
I made sure to keep it on brand by including simple, sleek images and text that promoted our product. These flyers helped increase awareness of the company on campus.
The team decided that a sleek black box would be best, considering that the company was shipping the Airpod covers and we wanted something durable, lightweight, and wouldn't show signs of wear during shipment. I curated the package design with the company logo and slogan, "Created by Us. Inspired by You." using InDesign.
Below is an array of curated images from the official company Instagram, which showcases our journey from ideation to production to closure of the company.
LET'S GET IN TOUCH
I'm actively seeking opportunities in Visual, Graphic, and UI Design. If you are interested in my work, I would love to chat over tea in Seattle—or given the circumstances—videochat!
